Welcome! Over the past several years ZC&R has received many compliments regarding our website. A few of those compliments had to do with the look and feel of the site while most praised the usefulness of the technical information we provide.

The technical usefulness of a thin film coatings website is critical. When you have a moment to look for technical help on our site, we want to be sure the information is quickly available. Toward that end we are starting a new chapter in the life of ZC&R’s web participation.

With the launch of this news and information page we plan to provide a variety of information helpful to our customers. We welcome any and all questions you may have regarding thin film coatings and look forward to sharing our knowledge of coatings.

About: Mr. Walker is the Engineering Sales Manager of ZC&R Coatings for Optics in Torrance, CA. ZC&R provides optical thin film coating services for the aerospace, defense, medical, entertainment, displays, and telecommunications markets as well as a number of national laboratories and agencies. ZC&R is an engineering and coating division within the specialty glass platform company Abrisa Industrial Glass in Santa Paula, CA. Jim Walker joined ZC&R in 1998 as a Thin Film Engineer after receiving his BS degree in physics from Northwest Nazarene College. Undergraduate research included an investigation of photorefractive focusing. Development at ZC&R has included numerous technical coating designs for efficient commercial designs and demanding military and aerospace applications. Jim has a particular interest in transparent conducting materials for visible and infrared applications, a niche product type for ZC&R. Mr. Walker is often relied upon by customers to provide friendly service along with a keen eye for detail and quick understanding of customer needs and concerns. Walker routinely coordinates organizational resources in response to customer requirements and opportunities.
